The New York Magic W-League Team's Exciting Victory
2-1 against NJ Wildcats
New York Magic W-League team finally had their first victory of this season at the game against New Jersey Wildcats on Sunday, June 29 2008. The Magic overall record became 1-5-3.
Veteran Magic forward, Noelle Meeke (
Ballymena, England), again impressed the fans in 30th minutes into the game by striking the ball beautifully into the Wildcats net from a corner kick while Magic was continuously attacking the Wildcats goal.
Nine minutes after the Magic first goal, Gemma Davison (London, England) from Arsenal Ladies FC who recently got called up by the England U-23 National team to play a tournament in July took off Wildcats defenders with her excellent speed dribble and scored the Magic second goal.
During the second half, Wildcats came back with one goal scored by Corinne Bildstein (76th minutes). The aggressive competition between two teams ended with 2-1 for New York Magic. The game stats (click here)

NY Magic W-League team got beat by Boston

New York Magic W-League team failed to get our first victory of the season on Sunday, June 22. Boston Renegates scored two goals durin the second half while New York Magic missed several opportunities to score. (Game Stats)

New York Magic W-League Team lost against a Local Rival, L.I. Rough Riders
Game score, 0-2, on Wednesday, June 18
New York Magic W-League team lost the battle against a local rival team, Long Island Rough Riders, on Wednesday, June 18. After allowing an early lead of two goals, New York Magic came back strong and attacked the Rough Riders goal during the second half. However, Magic missed the opportunities to score and the game ended with thefinal score of 0-2.
New York Magic will come back to the home field, IONA College - New Rochelle, NY, to take the current Northeast Devision leading team, Boston Renegades, on Sunday, June22 at 5 pm. We look forward to having your support at the field!
New York Magic W-League Team Endure "Close Call" with Washington Freedom
1-2 on Saturday, June 14, 2008
The New York Magic W- League team played a very exciting and competitive game against the 2007 W-League Champion, Washinton Freedom on Satuday, June 14 in Boyds, Maryland. The game was was tied, 1-1, with 4 minutes remaining in the game....when Magic defender Eleri Earnshaw cleared a ball off the goal line with her head,.....that the referee ruled a goal!!
The Magic went ahead (1-0) in the 46th minute of play when veteran forward Noelle Meeke came up big off of an assist from young Donna Kay Henry. Meeke, impressed the crowd again by putting the ball into the Freedom net right before the half. The goal was assisted by young Magic FW, DK Henry, who frustrated the Freedom defense several times during the game.
After the 64 minute in the game, Freedom center MF, Lori Lindsey, scored a goal to tie the game and Magic players held off the continuous attacking by Freedom until the 86 minute. The Freedom scored a controversial goal from a corner kick and finished the game with 1-2. (Game Stats)

New York Magic W-League team tied the game with Jersey Sky Blue after the 72min of high intensity competition on Saturday, June 7 in NJ. Due to the lighting, the officials called the game and the result held as 0-0.
New York Magic W-league team will face against Washington Freedom on Saturday, June 14 at 7pm at Maryland Soccer Complex.

NY Magic W-League team tied 1-1 with CFC Passion & All Five Youth Teams Earn Victories
NY Magic teams (W-League and Super Y) played six (6) games over the May 31-June 1, 2008 weekend. The Magic Super Y teams enjoyed five (5) exciting victories and the Magic W-League team earned a tie to round out the weekend. NY Magic W-League team played against Connecticut Passion on a rainy Saturday evening tying the Passion for the second time this season (1-1).

W-League Team needs MAGIC to Regroup!
Tough Loss against NJ Wildcats, 1-5
The New York Magic W-League team experienced a tough loss (1-5) against the NJ Wildcats on Saturday, May 24 in NJ. The Magic came out strong scoring their first and only goal of the game in the 9th minute of play by a beautifully excuted goal from young forward, Donna Kay Henry. The Magic has the potential to be a much stronger team than it showed on the pitch last night and the team will have to regroup and work hard to get over the disappointing loss.
The Magic players are determined to step up in the upcoming games to show their potential as a solid competitive team!!

In a hard fought effort the New York Magic W-League team played the second game of the 2008 season against the local rival team, the Long Island Rough Riders, on Saturday, May 17, 2008.
New York Magic W-League Team Opens 2008 Season with a 2-2 Tie Game
New York Magic 2 - 2 Conn. Passion
The NY Magic played their first game of the 2008 season against a W-League newcomer, the Conn. Passion, on Saturday, May 10 at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. The Magic held a 2-1 lead until 9 minutes left in the game when the Passion was awarded a penalty kick to tie the game at 2-2.

New York Magic "Reserves" Compete in New York City
Potential Players: Contact New York Magic Women's Soccer!!
Some of the current NY Magic players, some of the former NY Magic players, as well as potential NY Magic players compete during the W-League "off season" in the Metroplitan Women’s Soccer League in New York City. The Magic "Reserves" games are played on Sundays in the fall and spring. The " Magic Reserves" will also participate in winter indoor tournaments as a tryout opportunity for the 2007 W-League seasn. Players who are looking for competitive women’s soccer in NYC, please feel free to contact the New York Magic for additional information!!
