New York Magic Owner/Manager Lyndelle T. Phillips is inducted as 2006 USL Hall of Famer
On November 17, 2006 in Tampa, FL. at its 20th anniversary Annual General Meeting, the United Soccer League (USL) recognized New York Magic President and team manager Lyndelle T. Phillips as a 2006 inductee into the United Soccer League (USL) Hall of Fame. Phillips founded the Magic along with co-owner and head coach Nino DePasquali, one of the seven oldest clubs in the history of the W-League.
The USL noted that, "The NY Magic is a well respected club, and the team has been a competitive force in the W-League over the years with finishing second twice." In addition, Steve Clamp (USL), Bruno & Nicole Hartrell (Toronto Lynx), Cliff Simmons (Ocean City Barons, and Amy Snider (Fort Collins Force) were also inducted as 2006 USL Hall of Fame Builders.
In addition, the NY Magic was also recognized as 10+years clubs along with the Fort Collins Force, the Ocean City Barons, and the Toronto Lynx.
Marcelo Balboa (US National Team), Manny Lagos (MSL), Julie Foudy (a longtime US Women’s National Team Star), Maki Cook (Oklahoma City Worriors), Steve Famiglietta (Albuquerque Outlaws), Saeed Kadkhodaian (Austin Sockadillos), David Swisseler (Lubbock Lazers), Chris Melton (Amarillo Chllengers), and Greg Nichols (Garland Genesis) were also named as 2006 USL Hall of Fame Players.
