The New York Magic dealt a serious blow to the Washington Freedom Futures on the 4th of July weekend, knocking them out of first place. The match ended 2-0, with the Magic’s Rashidah Sherman scoring in the 26th minute and the 71st minute of play.

United Soccer Leagues announced the W-League Team of the Week today, with the New York Magic’s Rashida Sherman being named Player of the Week. The pacey New York forward tormented the Garden State last week, scoring two against the New Jersey Valkyries and adding another against the New Jersey Rangers. Sherman’s two-goal effort against the Valkyries included the game-winning goal.
